Circular : To the friends of St. Stephen's House: The dwelling-house of the late Charles H. Brown, Esq., 37 Purchase Street [Boston], is about to be given up by the family. The grounds belonging to the house lie in common with those of St. Stephen's Chapel. It is supposed it will be taken to be leased to eight or ten Irish families, too many of whom are dirty, drinking, profane, riotous, non-Sunday-keeping families, and very annoying in religious matters. This will render it, not only an almost unbearable nuisance to St. Stephen's Chapel, but, also, a not much less evil to St. Stephen's House. . by Wells, E. M. P. (Eleazer Mather Porter), 1793-1878
